Results: Stress describes the capacity and mechanisms to sustain and adjust to externally or internally challenging situations. Therefore, organisms can rely on the endogenous ability to self-regulate stress and stressors, i.e., autoregulatory stress management. Morano 1995). Stress, although often studied as a psychological construct, may be viewed from a biological perspective (Dantzer 1991). Accordingly, stress responses are composed of the activation of neurobiological systems that help preserve viability through change or allostasis (McEwen & Seeman 1999). Al-though necessary for survival, the effects of Neuroscientists are beginning to reveal how chronic stress exacts such a hefty toll.

Evidence is gathered from different sources to substantiate the hypothesis of an overlapping neurobiological principle in stress autoregulation. Results: Stress describes the capacity and mechanisms to sustain and adjust to externally or internally challenging situations. Therefore, organisms can rely on the endogenous ability to self-regulate stress and stressors, i.e., autoregulatory stress management.

A reminder to those attending the Neurobiology of Stress Workshop that trainee travel award applications are due tomorrow, May 1, … 2020-04-04 Why ‘Neurobiology of Stress Management’? Extensive research by neuroscientist Dr. Bruce McEwen, concerning the effects of stress on the body and brain has demonstrated the impairing effects of too much stress in terms of dysregulation and physical well-being. Neurobiology of Stress IF is increased by a factor of 1.7 and approximate percentage change is 27.33% when compared to preceding year 2017, which shows a rising trend.
